Fulton County Courts Reschedule Early Voting Finals From December 26th to December 2nd
On Friday, the 18th, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Thomas Cox ruled in favor of the Democratic group of plaintiffs, saying the ban on voting on the Saturday after Thanksgiving does not apply to runoff elections.
Fulton County officially added Saturday, November 26, to its early voting schedule after the court ruling.
Fulton County’s early voting period is currently November 26 through Friday, December 2 .
Georgia Republican Secretary of State,Brad Raffensperger, who manages all elections, announced that Saturday, the 26th, would not operate a polling place because it was the Thanksgiving holiday and the now-abolished anniversary of General Robert E. Lee. The Democratic Party of Georgia filed a lawsuit against the state of Georgia.
Georgia’s federal senatorial election will rematch Republican candidate Herschel Walker in the run-off on December 6, as both candidates failed to get the required 50% of the vote in the midterm elections held on the 8th.
