Kemp declares state of emergency across Georgia

0

Governor Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency on the 21st to prepare for the first cold in five years.

Due to the state of emergency, essential supplies for commercial and residential use, particularly propane gas, can be supplied and will apply to all 159 counties in Georgia and went into effect on the 21st.

With Governor Kemp’s declaration, the state is preparing to handle all state routes and interstates north from Columbus to Macon to Augusta, including preparing snowplows such as salt trucks to relieve road blockages in case of emergency.

Gov. Kemp said officials across Georgia were preparing for hazardous road conditions, downed trees and power lines.

“The temperature we know won’t reach 40 degrees across Georgia until Monday afternoon next week,” the governor said.

Weather expert Brad Nitz said a tangible warning was in effect from midnight Thursday through noon Saturday, and said bitter cold will strike in some areas.

In this regard, special attention was requested that hypothermia should be noted.

A strong gust of wind blew in on Friday morning, causing the wind chill to drop to more than -10 degrees Celsius, and Saturday morning could start at around -11 degrees Celsius, the coldest in nearly eight years since January 2015, he said.

“All Georgians should prepare for the dangerous cold,” Kemp said, warning in particular that “winds could delay power reconnection.” He also added, “It can be very difficult to get staff to repair power outages until it’s safe.”

Emergency Management Agency officials asked people traveling away from home over the Christmas period to “allow neighbors to access their homes in case a pipe bursts.”

A Korean pastor’s house was destroyed by fire.

0

After the bereavement of his wife 7 years ago, he went through a difficult life, and recently had a brain hemorrhage surgery and even a fire

(Gwinnett County, Georgia) The house of Pastor Moses Lee (Korean name: Lee Bang-seok), a Korean missionary, was destroyed by a fire early in the morning on the 22nd (Tue).

The Gwinnett Fire Department said the house was “burnt down after using the fireplace early Tuesday morning.”

They also said they sent workers to the scene of a house fire on the southwest side of Jack Russell Run in Lilburn at 1:03 a.m. to find a two-story house that caught fire that day.

Homeowner Rev. Moses Lee told firefighters that when he returned from being abroad for several months, he found that the house’s natural gas supply had stopped, and because of the cold temperatures, he lit a gas fireplace.

“I heard a crackling sound from inside the wall and when I touched it, the wall felt hot,” he said.

Missionary Moses Lee told Channel 2 reporter Matt Janson that he is a pastor and is more grateful than ever for surviving the fire.

“My friend is alive, this friend is alive, I am alive, praise the Lord. It’s amazing that the Lord protects us,” he said in a public interview.

The fire department confirmed that the smoke alarms in the house were not working.

Firefighters began to put out the fire, and after a thorough house search, it was confirmed that everyone got out safely.

The fire was ruled an accident.

As a result of the Global News Today’s coverage, Rev. Moses Lee visited Korea last May for missionary work, but as soon as he landed at the airport, he suffered a brain hemorrhage and underwent emergency brain surgery.

Missionary Moses Lee, who was revived dramatically, was advised by his medical staff not to board the plane for the time being, and with the help of his acquaintances, he stayed in Korea for six months and continued his missionary work.

In Atlanta, he pioneered the Jesus Mission Church under Kingdomizer and spread his influence, but seven years ago, his wife suddenly died and he has been struggling.

Missionary Moses Lee could not return to Atlanta from Korea due to brain hemorrhage surgery.

However he returned to his Atlanta home bravely on the 15th of November, but lost the house he had lived in for 20 years in a fire.

One step closer to joining the LPGA Hall of Fame

(Seoul) “I think this will be my last championship before marriage.”

Lydia Ko (New Zealand), who virtually conquered the 2022 season of the LPGA Tour, received the best wedding gift and smiled broadly.

Lydia Ko scored a final total of 17 under par and 271 strokes at the CME Group Tour Championship (total prize money of $7 million), the final round of the LPGA Tour 2022 season held at Tiburon Golf Club (par 72, 6,556 yards) in Naples, Florida, USA on the 21st (Korean time).

Lydia Ko, who received 2 million dollars (approximately 2.68 billion won), the most prize money in women’s golf tournaments, doubled her joy ahead of her wedding in December.

Lydia Ko will marry Jung Joon, the son of Hyundai Card Vice Chairman Chung Tae-young, at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul in December.

Jung Jun came to the competition site that day to support Lydia Ko and shared the joy of winning.

Lydia Ko, who monopolized first place in major categories such as player of the year, prize money, average at bats, and most wins this season, looked back and said, “This year was a truly amazing year that I couldn’t have hoped for more.” I wanted to play a good game for the team,” he said.

Having won 3 wins in the 2022 season, he said, “I think this year has been the most steady and consistent performance while playing as a player.” and was delighted

Lydia Ko said, “There are so many good players, so I expected a difficult game today.”

He added, “Actually, I wanted to do the best I could, regardless of the performance of other players.”

As a result of this season, Lydia Ko has also moved one step closer to being inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame.

To join the LPGA Hall of Fame, 27 Hall of Fame points are required, but Lydia Ko scored 25.

Hall of Fame points are awarded 2 points for major wins, 1 point for LPGA regular tour wins, 1st place in par average, and 1 point for Player of the Year.

Lydia Ko added 3 points by adding 1 point each in winning, average at bats, and player of the year categories.

He said, “It would be a great thing to be in the Hall of Fame,” he said.

Fulton County Courts Reschedule Early Voting Finals From December 26th to December 2nd

On Friday, the 18th, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Thomas Cox ruled in favor of the Democratic group of plaintiffs, saying the ban on voting on the Saturday after Thanksgiving does not apply to runoff elections.

BTS, the eldest Jin goes to the army… Withdrawal of enlistment postponement

0

10/17/2022

(Seoul, Korea) Group BTS (BTS) announced their intention to enlist in turn, starting with the eldest brother Jin.

Big Hit Music, the management company of BTS, announced on the 17th, “Jin will apply to cancel his enlistment at the end of this month and will follow the enlistment procedure of the Military Manpower Administration.

Jin, who was born in 1992 and is 30 years old, received a recommendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to postpone his enlistment in accordance with the Military Service Act amended in 2020, and his enlistment has been postponed until the end of this year.

The current Military Service Act stipulates that persons with special skills in the fields of arts and sports prescribed by Presidential Decree, recommended by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, may be transferred as arts and sports personnel.

However, according to the Enforcement Decree, ‘popular culture’ is not included in the specialty in the field of arts and sports, so the issue of equity for pop culture artists who promote national prestige has been raised.

In the pop music world, there were voices demanding that BTS should be allowed to perform alternative military service, but discussions at the National Assembly were sluggish.

As BTS withdraws its ‘postponing enlistment until the age of 30’, Jin is expected to enlist as an active duty soldier as soon as a notice of enlistment is issued. You may even be able to wear military uniforms as early as this year.

BTS mentioned ‘the last concert’ at their solo concert ‘Yet To Come in Busan’ held at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium on the 15th.

In June, BTS released an anthology album ‘Proof’ covering the 9-year history of BTS, and announced that they would continue their music journey with a focus on solo activities rather than group activities.

Jin said at this Busan concert, “The fact that time passed so quickly is proof that we had such a happy time.”

He also said, “This is the last concert we are holding for now.” “I thought, ‘When can we do it again?”
